Philip Okonma is a multidisciplinary artist and designer based in Los Angeles, known for powerful works that explore Black identity, empowerment, and cultural memory. His projects span gallery exhibitions, cultural institutions, and his own brand, RHYANANDRHYSE—each reflecting his distinct voice and dedication to pushing the boundaries of art and design. RHYANANDRHYSE, named after his twin sons, is his bold exploration of wearable art. Blending fine art and fashion, the brand transforms original artwork into tangible pieces that make self-expression accessible to all.

This pop-up gallery activation was an inventive blend of art and fashion, featuring a full gallery with immersive live painting, along with a showcase of original works in both fashion and visual art. Guests were invited to meet the artist, view his work up close, and leave with purchasable items such as a 24”x36” abstract charcoal portrait of André Leon Talley, a one-of-a-kind hand-painted Polo Oxford, or a cut-and-sew piece—items that authentically showcased his range across various creative mediums.
